Jim's Biography

Dr. Ewing is an elementary education professor at Stephen F. Austin State University with a specialization in mathematics and English language learners.

Bilingual
As a result of living in Spain for 24 years, Dr. Ewing is bilingual. While in Spain, Dr. Ewing was an elementary teacher and he coached teachers in the areas of mathematics and English as a second language.

Passionate
Six years of educational experience in his home country, the United States, taught Dr. Ewing to translate meeting the needs of all students to the American school system. Dr. Ewing’s passion for teaching all students, including English language learners, expanded to include sharing his strategies with teachers.

Engaging
In Dr. Ewing’s latest student evaluations at Stephen F. Austin State University, 73 out of 74 of his students gave him the maximum rating for enthusiasm. Dr. Ewing will assist teachers on your campus in moving all students, including English language learners, to grade level in mathematics.
